PROPAGATION OF THE FAITH: Thank you to all who contributed to last week´s collection to support those who are spreading the Gospel message in 160 missionary countries. A total of $2,300 was donated.

This Sunday, members of the Parish Council will host a cuppa after 10.30am Mass.

EL SALVADOR ACTION GROUP: The Annual Appeal for our Sister Parish, San Antonio Abad, in San Salvador will be held next weekend, 24th & 25th July. The proceeds from the appeal will go directly to provide ongoing support for the medical clinic which is run to help the poor in San Antonio Abad. For more details, please collect the newsletter being distributed after Masses today.

THANKSGIVING PROGRAM:   Parishioners, who contribute to the Thanksgiving Program either by envelopes or Credit Card, please note receipts are available in the Foyer for collection this weekend, along with the next set of Thanksgiving envelopes. If you would like to contribute to the Thanksgiving Program please contact the Parish Office 9807 9494.

MASS INTENTIONS:   If you would like a Mass offered for a particular intention such as an anniversary, recent death or to give thanks for blessings received, please collect an envelope from the foyer and then arrange the date & time with Fr John. The office staff are not able to arrange Masses as they do not know the Priest´s commitments.

ARCHBISHOP´S PASTORAL LETTER: Copies of Archbishop Denis Hart´s excellent Pastoral Letter on Sexual Abuse are available in the Church Foyer.

St Peter´s, Clayton: As from 31st July 2010, the Vigil Mass at St Peter´s, Clayton will be at 6pm.

MARY MACKILLOP WALKS FOR YOUNG ADULTS: MacKillop Young Adult Community (MacYAC) invites young adults to come & visit significant sites in the life of Mary MacKillop here in Melbourne. Leave Flagstaff Gardens at 2pm on the 4th Sat of the month – visit the birth site, Mary MacKillop Heritage Centre and site of the First Providence. MARY MACKILLOP´S CANONISATION: The Latest edition of "Inform" is now available in the Church foyer. This edition was written by Fr Paul Gardiner SJ who was the Postulator of Mary MacKillop´s cause of Canonisation. He gives a very good explanation of the canonisation process and shares some insights of Mary´s life.

PLEASE NOTE - HOLY FAMILY LOSS & GRIEF GROUP: There will be no meeting on 7th July. Next meeting for parishioners experiencing loss and grief is Wednesday 4th August at 2.00pm. Meetings are held in the Parish House on the first Wednesday each month. Extra meetings (day or evening) will be arranged to suit particular needs. For planning purposes contact either Kevin Delaney on 9807 4861 or the Parish Office on 9807 9494.

NOVENA FOR THE SICK: Parishioners are invited to pray a novena to Our Lady for those in our Parish who are sick. The Novena Prayers are available in the Foyer.

Communion: Catholics are encouraged to receive Communion under both species at our Masses. Drinking from the chalice is the preferred method of receiving the Blood of Christ because of the Lord´s command: "Take and drink." We do not allow people to dip the host into the chalice.

After Mass on Thursday mornings, Parishioners are invited to the Parish House for Morning Tea.

MARRIAGE ENCOUNTER WEEKEND: When was the last time you had a great weekend just for the two of you? Forget life´s tensions and interruptions and rekindle the love and romance that brought you together in the first place. The next 3 weekends will be held on 25th-27th June, 20th–22nd August, and 15th–17th October. Checkout the website for more information on www.wwme.org.au

CARPARK: Please be aware that the Church carpark will usually be closed on weekdays between 8.30am and 8.55am. We regret the inconvenience this will cause some parishioners but we need to protect children who are walking to school.

WALTER SILVESTER MEMORIAL LECTURE: Professor Donna Orsuto will address the topic: "Committed and Convinced: Lay people at the Heart of the Church for the World" on Tuesday 20th July at 6.30pm at the Australian Catholic University. (See noticeboard for further details.)

ASYLUM SEEKERS SEMINAR: St John´s Uniting Church, 37 Virginia St Mt Waverley, is presenting a seminar concerning Asylum Seekers on 25th July at 2.30pm. Speaker: David Spitteler from Dandenong Asylum Seekers Centre. Topic: "The Present Situation for Asylum Seekers." There will be ample opportunity for you to ask questions and for discussion. Afternoon tea will follow.
